Continuous tube cleaning for moderate volume flows
Microfouling in the heat exchangers of industrial heat pumps and chillers and in the auxiliary cooling water circuits of power plants leads directly to efficiency losses. Biofouling, sedimentation, and scaling increase the pressure difference across the heat exchanger and impair the heat transfer capacity. The inner surfaces of the tubes must be kept permanently clean in order to ensure stable and efficient operation.
Function in the overall system
The E1 strainer is a component of Taprogge’s continuous cleaning system. It separates the cleaning balls in the outlet region of the heat exchanger and conveys them via the recirculation unit with recirculation pump and the ball injection device back into the inlet region. For tubes with internal texturing, more powerful recirculation pumps may be required.
Special features of the E1 strainer
Taprogge Products
The cooling water flows through an elliptical screen, which reliably separates the cleaning balls and keeps them circulating in the system. Induced vortices ensure reliable separation and the weld-free flat-bar design reduces the risk of corrosion. The mechanical components of the Taprogge cleaning system are tasked with ensuring that the balls can constantly circulate without any problems. The actual cleaning result is produced by the cleaning balls themselves. They are selected based on a range of site- and project-specific parameters.

No manual cleaning work is required. Clean innner tube surfaces extend the service life of the heat exchanger tubes and maintain the efficiency of the heat pump. This series is designed for operating pressures of up to 16 bar and media temperatures of up to 80°C. Applications outside this range require a separate evaluation.
