Zero liquid discharge through evaporation and crystallization

Our Terrawater Saline solution comes in where conventional treatment methods run up against their limits. The system is aimed at plant owners who wish to fully recycle their wastewater and consistently avoid liquid waste. For this purpose, Terrawater Saline combines the tried-and-tested evaporation technology of Terrawater HDH with an integrated crystallization stage. This creates genuine zero liquid discharge solutions with exploitation rates of up to 98%.

How Terrawater Saline works

Pre-concentration is followed by a downstream crystallization stage, in which the dissolved salts are precipitated. Depending on requirements, the salts obtained can be discharged manually or automatically. Terrawater Saline works at low temperatures of less than 100°C, uses waste heat from other processes, and does entirely without chemicals. Thanks to the modular design, the capacity can be flexibly increased. If demand increases, additional units can be added on.

Wastewater is turned into a usable by-product

Terrawater Saline

Terrawater Saline not only makes it possible to minimize disposal costs, but also to recover specific salts from process water in a targeted manner.

By integrating Taprogge cleaning technology, the plant can continue to operate reliably even at high salt concentrations. The result is maximum water recovery and minimal maintenance work.

Use cases

Terrawater Saline is suitable for demanding concentration and zero liquid discharge (ZLD) applications, in particular:

  • Separating salts from RO wastewater
  • Recovering salts from high-salinity industrial process water and wastewater
  • Preparing brines from H2 production for municipal wastewater treatment
