Finding the right design
Different self-cleaning heat exchangers can be used depending on the process goal and plant concept. The Klaren vertical shell-and-tube heat exchanger is suitable for heating, cooling, and heat recovery tasks in utility and process applications, especially with highly saline, contaminated, or scaling-prone media. When evaporation is a key process step, the Klaren evaporator complements this technology with a self-cleaning design to ensure stable evaporation rates. This also applies to MEE and MVR systems as well as media that is highly prone to fouling.

Self-cleaning heat exchangers and evaporators
Our products combine tried-and-tested system concepts with integrated self-cleaning. A controlled fluidized bed of cleaning particles is produced in the tubes thanks to the upward flow of the process medium. These particles continuously move along the tube inner walls, gently removing fouling and deposits as they start to form. A distribution device with a design customized to the specific use case ensures a uniform flow and particle distribution across all tubes for a consistently high cleaning performance.
