Debris filter with redundant reliability
The PR-BW 400 is an automatic backwash filter for reliably filtering macro particles from cooling water flows for turbine condensers and heat exchangers. With its quadruple-redundant drive technology, it ensures maximum availability even under the most demanding operating conditions.
Technology
The PR-BW 400 is the first filter of its size in the world to use pressure-relieved backwash technology. The filter houses four large filter chambers, which can each be flushed individually. Four independent drives ensure redundant operation, so that the cooling water supply can continue to flow uninterrupted if one drive fails. The generously proportioned filter chambers also reliably capture large debris, making them ideal when the degree of fouling is hard to predict.

The filter can be installed in any position – horizontally, vertically, or at any angle. In confined spaces, the filter sections can reach directly into the condenser water chambers. The filter is also designed and engineered for use in earthquake-prone regions. The PR-BW 400 has proven its worth in situations where continuous availability and maximum reliability are the highest priorities, particularly in cooling water circuits in power plants and nuclear power plants.
