Self-cleaning for high performance
Heat exchangers are key components in industrial processes. They are used for heating, cooling, and waste heat recovery in a wide range of applications. However, in practice, their performance is often hampered by fouling, scaling, and deposits on the heat transfer surfaces. The result is lower thermal efficiency, higher pressure loss, higher energy consumption, and additional cleaning work and unplanned shutdowns. Klaren Heat Exchangers feature integrated self-cleaning technology. They ensure a consistently high thermal power, minimize fouling, and provide for reliable operation even in demanding operating conditions.
More performance for less
The Klaren Heat Exchanger combines high thermal power with uninterrupted fouling control. This produces significant operational benefits:
- High heat transfer capacity and energy efficiency
Clean heat transfer surfaces ensure reliable heating and cooling and reduce energy consumption in heating and cooling processes. - Prevention of fouling and scaling
The continuous online cleaning prevents deposits from forming and maintains efficiency in the long run. - Lower cleaning and maintenance workload
Less manual cleaning reduces downtimes and operating costs. - Higher operational reliability
Fewer interruptions due to fouling increase plant availability and process stability. - Longer service life for the components
Reduced scaling lowers the thermal and mechanical stress on the heat exchanger.
How the Klaren Heat Exchanger works
The Klaren Heat Exchanger is based on a vertical shell-and-tube heat exchanger that is optimized for industrial heat transfer processes. It is designed and engineered for heating, cooling, and heat recovery. A fluidized bed of cleaning particles is created in the tubes using an upward process medium flow in order to effectively prevent fouling in the heat exchanger tubes. This keeps the particles moving in a controlled manner, which produces a continuous, effective, and gentle scouring effect on the tube inner walls. Deposits are removed at an early stage before they can form disruptive layers. A distributor system that is specially designed and engineered for the specific use case ensures a uniform flow and particle distribution across all tubes. This creates stable operating conditions and consistently high cleaning performance even in changing process conditions.
Versatile in use
The Klaren Heat Exchanger is designed and engineered for numerous thermal applications. It is used for heating, cooling, and waste heat recovery in the process and utility industries. The robust, self-cleaning design ensures reliable performance even in challenging operating environments prone to fouling.
